We may not get to see our 2020 favourites take to the stage, but that doesn’t mean we can’t reminisce on our Eurovision favourites. This series is aimed to discover the team’s favourite entries from the 21st century, from 2001 to 2019.
In collaboration with ESCDaily, we will be reviewing some of their 21st Century favourites, while over on their site, you will find their reviews of our favourites!

Urban Symphony – Rändajad | 6th place, 129 points (Final)
There is a reason why this did so well at Eurovision. This song is stunning, and surely one of Estonia’s best. Rändajad was totally unique in the Eurovision line-up, and each element of the song and performance worked so well. I loved that the song was totally in Estonian, which is something we don’t often get from Estonia anymore. The language mixed with the melody was in a way, haunting, which really had the ability to capture the audience.
The performance was beautiful, and I especially loved the blur effects used to fade in and fade out of the shots. The camera work seemed really considered, and I really liked the blue theme across the stage and the outfits. Overall, this entry is the total package.

Sahlene – Runaway | 3rd place, 111 points (Final)
This song is infectious from the get-go, and takes me back to the innocent pop days of the early 2000s. The country-pop vibes bizarrely work, with the staging simple and effective. If the contest was not being held in Estonia, I feel as if this song could have one. Third place is still a great place, however!
